A weirdly warm and windy day, Full of tasks - washing, gathering windfall crabapples, fixed my puncture from yesterday. Panicked that my front hub was seizing up then felt embarrassed when the bike shop declared it was the brake block catching - and I’d checked that thoroughly I thought. Saw a friend outside the shop - as she said ‘hello Pauline’ through her mask I was thinking ’who is it?’ Mask off, mystery solved. Otherwise the hens presented me with four eggs today, so I rewarded them with their other sweet corn cob. It was raining at chicken bed time and for once all five were already tucked up in the coop. Just afterwards the sun came out for a fiery sunset through the front gardens.
