Testing
Have the kitchen a second coat Of paint this morning, called the doctor to arrange a telephone call for Mr L and took part in zoom team quiz. Then came the call. Mr L has had a chesty cough and wheezes loudly for several weeks now. He’s had a course of antibiotics, and whilst it eased for a couple of days, is once again at full throttle! Dr listened, asked some questions and said he would arrange for some more antibiotics and a steroid as it could be either infection or the COPD advancing. Then, he has to rule out Covid as well so go get a test! Online, it transpires that they don’t do testing at the weekends, that’ll be why all the figures are low on a Monday then! We could just make a slot this evening so I drove him to Ashford. What a palaver! Lots of masked and ppe’d people to greet at us every few yards. All with flash cards they hel up to instruct on the next bit! ‘Keep your windows closed’, ‘turn your engine off’, ‘how many people being tested’, ‘dial this number’. Mr l dialled and a man spoke to him giving all the necessary instructions. Eventually they decided he had understood, and I got another flash card directing me to a bay. He did the test and a man examined it, shouting through his mask and the closed window, the next instruction. Then on to the next bay when all the details were checked again and he threw his test into a receptacle. What a strange world it has become!
After all this I realised no photos, so these two were taken at LC the day we went for tea!
