A walk in the woods

A dreary day today. We watched our streamed church service as usual, then in the afternoon decided to risk a walk at Rowe Woods. As we drove there, (only about 20 minutes drive), we had a very light sprinkle. However, when we reached Rowe woods, it soon became clear we had just missed a downpour! The first clue was a young man returning to the car next to ours and changing his wet T-shirt, then once we set out on the trails we found them quite wet, and you could see where the water had formed little streamlets in places! However, we were fortunate, and stayed dry. We came across an unusual fungus, the one shown in my thumbnail picture. I googled it when we returned home, and I believe it is a form of Coral fungus.
