Candle-lit countryside...

After a lovely afternoon tea of homemade carrot cake and chicken chunks (for Alfred) we decided to go out in the sunshine and walk it off! This was a bonus for Alfred who thought his long weekend walks were over for the week. I took loads of sunset photos, but I have to give credit to Mr K for spotting this lovely view (which I'd just walked right past).

The portacabins in the background are part of the construction work going on at the moment to repair an old bridge right in the middle of this lovely nature reserve. This is definitely the best time of year to walk here as in warmer weather it is, unfortunately, swarming with mosquitos! We must come here more often while it's cold :-)
