Just a Marigold

I have never been a Marigold fan; they have a fragrance I don't like......but I saw that many of the garden plots at Bethany Lake had planted them. I look "Marigold" up and found: "The marigold is probably the most well-known plant for repelling insects. French marigolds repel whiteflies and kill bad nematodes. ... If you choose marigolds for your garden they must be scented to work as a repellent."  So it is that awful smell that works for good.


I hope Ellie and I can get back into a regular schedule because I think it was hard for her to go back home. She was not very nice to her grandma .....she said, "I want GG Lois".    Opps..... transition back and forth used to happen so easily  and she adjusted seamlessly......I hope we get back to that. Mike said she got over it ....but, I am sad she said that to her Grandma.


This is difficult day for my hubby; his best friend since high school suddenly past away. His friend & his wife were supposed to be coming up here this week for a visit, but our boat was getting some undercoat paint put on it so the scum doesn't attach...... they postponed their trip until the middle of September. The security camera where he works  showed him suddenly falling backwards dead. Good thing he was not driving the motorhome up here this week as originally planned; he could have died while driving and killed his wife and maybe others on the road. My husband has so many memories with Marvin; lots of laughs when we were together. Life is so short.....tomorrow is never for sure.
