Cleveland Way

As Richard was due to meet middle son Matthew in Thirsk.  I hitched a ride to Sutton Bank for a dog walk along the Cleveland Way. It was very busy near the car park and visitor centre. However, further afield the numbers thinned.

The weather was changeable with a strong breeze and showers scudding across the escarpment. We were lucky to avoid the worst of these. The main is a view of Gormire lake, Whitestone cliffs and across to Hood Hill. I particularly liked the difference in the light. Given the problems with the moorland heather this year I couldn’t resist the extra.
