Unexpected warmth

Terrible night-don’t normally suffer from insomnia but was wide awake til 4am so it was a struggle to get up this morning.
We were heading to St Andrews since most other options we’d thought about looked like they’d be having rain today. Arrived and it was brighter and much warmer than we’d expected. Lovely wander around the town and some browsing in shops as well as looking at the buildings, little alleyways and ruined cathedral. Poor Sa tripped and fell splayed out on the pavement but amazingly unhurt...someone ran out with a bag of ice and glass of water from the icecream shop we were passing at the time-so kind-and the nearby hardware shop had a picnic chair for sale outside so she sat there whilst she recovered her equilibrium.
Queues for quite a while (behind some absolutely insufferable young yah types talking loudly about their lives absolutely uncaring about the rest of us in earshot) but rewarded eventually with delicious fish and chip feast on the outside tables.
Headed to the beach and had long lovely walk, practised star jumps and picked up shells etc. Lovely
Home whacked out, and sort of watched another film and knitted but all very tired. Early night to make up from last night
