Way Too Difficult

Todays Blip is a bit of a ‘rant’ and has a mundane photograph of our new dishwasher, delivered under insurance, as a replacement. Knowing I had work on at the rugby club today I paid the excess charge for the ‘engineer’ to install it.
I’m an engineer, a four year apprenticeship learning my trade and then fifty years using, improving and adding to those skills, means I can tackle most things.

Not so for the appliance ‘engineer’ who pitched up today, took one look, the obligatory intake of breath followed by the classic, “can’t do it I’m afraid, don’t have the parts”. The part in question was a double male connector. I suspect “don’t have the parts” is appliance ‘engineer’ speak for “don’t know how/can’t be arsed”.

Fortunately I have a wife who as well as holding down a job as a nurse can tell a nut from a bolt and did it herself.
