Boulmer Boat
Many thanks to all you lovely folk for your congratulations on our 40th wedding anniversary. We have had a lovely day today. Last night was a bit fraught as the hotel restaurant was fully booked before we checked in and there was no bar food available. Anyway, they rang around and booked us a table at a little Italian restaurant in Darlington town centre, which actually was rather nice.
Today we went to Belsay Castle (near Morpeth) and had a nice walk around the gardens and the original castle ruins (see extras).
We drove to Alnmouth and manage to find a (free) parking space and wandered along the beach. It started to rain and folk began drifting away, so we went into town and got a spot in a cafe for tea and cake.
Drove up the coast to Boulmer, went on the beach again and the sun was just catching this boat giving some nice subtle colours and reflections.
The little cottage we have got for a couple of nights is beautiful. Off out to find some tea, hopefully fish and chips at the seaside...and there is some champagne chilling in the fridge for later.
Blip time has been limited so I am afraid I am behind with comments...however, I have saved all your journals and will catch up at some time...maybe after we get home later in the week.
