Lincoln and Newark

SUNDAY

We spent the morning in Lincoln exploring the Cathedral. It seemed to be very Covid-19 secure with rigorous track and trace registration, automatic hand sanitisers and stewards continually cleaning chairs and touch point surfaces. We eventually found the Lincoln Imp stone carving on one of the pillars. We put 20p in the slot to have him illuminated - see extras.

We met up with Harriet and George for lunch by the river in Newark. It's a place that I have passed through hundreds of times on the East Coast Main Line but never visited. We went on to explore Newark Castle which is essentially just a shell but very impressive (see main blip of Harriet and myself at the Castle bandstand and extras).

Our parking tickets expired just before the rain arrived at 3 pm so we all headed home.

A great weekend seeing the area and catching up with Harriet and George.
