Kitchen Sill

Against the light, but it shows zinnias and marigolds I snipped yesterday. And salvia and verbena, which sprinkle everywhere. Today was an indoors day, apart from a trip to Wegmans where I found food and W. found a silly birthday card for his sister Marti, and we both found friends we hadn't seen in person since March. Felt wonderful to greet them face to face. We pantomimed big hugs.

This afternoon I wrote emails to good friends in Germany, one of whom - the dad in my long-ago aupair family - has lost both of his brothers to cancer in the last five months (as well as Birgit last year). It took a long time to compose and write in my rusty German.

Meanwhile we're on-call to go back to Tennessee if needed. W. at least will go back at the end of September. Face-Timed with Ellie and Harry today, which was really nice; he continues to do pretty well!
