brambleblossom

By brambleblossom

Just eating lunch whilst Arthur naps in the car with his Grandpa on guard .
We had a lengthy meander around the reservoir stopping at many puddles for Arthur to splash through and many pools for Bramble to swim through.
We have sunshine too !
We watched a gaggle of geese take off noisily and flap their way down to the fields by the lower reservoir where they settled . Then we watched a herd of sheep take off and then gather in an suitable field , it was interesting to watch them flowing in . Before long a farmer and sheepdog appeared and herded them elsewhere.
We also managed a quick perk at a new born baby . As our children grew up we formed a deep and lovely friendship with the family next door whose children became very close to ours . Their younger son moved back onto the street and has recently become the proud dad of a little boy . It’s the 5th generation of their family to have lived on the street since we arrived in 1982.
I’ve been pondering on such things recently as I sort through lots of objects and papers from the past as well as thinking about the impact of moving far away from where you grow up .
Anyway - a small boy has awoken so I must jump to attention !
