XERISCAPE

XERISCAPE is a kind of landscaping that reduces the need for
irrigation, & is an alternative to other kinds of traditional
gardening.  The goal is to create an interesting arrangement of drought tolerant plants, but not necessarily natives.  It is not to be confused with ZERO-SCAPING, which usually is without any plants.

Some people assume this means an ugly composition of
dirt, gravel & cactus.  My Blip shows it can include interesting plants,
textures, & color. The design should include soil grading & mulching to help retain rainwater, & reduce the need for irrigation.  Where we live if can be
6 months or more before it rains, so drip irrigation is necessary.  Another advantage is there is less maintenance.

I see this property while walking Angus & Scout, & have Blipped plants here  before. It has rose bushes, palms & artificial grass, so it is not a
complete ZERISCAPE..  This little area reminded me of the
potential here.
