In the pink

I went for a walk with three friends this morning; it was so lovely to see them! Normally we would have hugged, but smiles had to do to show our joy at being with each other today.

I taught with two of these pals and sail with the third (who is the best friend of one of my teaching pals). Now we are all retired and we are filled with appreciation for having a reliable income in these days. We caught up with each other as we walked, swapping to walk two abreast as we meandered around Mountstewart estate. The morning was sunny and warm and was such a gift!

We had coffee together afterwards, while batting away wasps - such a nuisance at this time of the year - and decided that we’ll aim to walk together a couple of times each month.

A really lovely time together. :)
