Knitting mittens, even fingerless ones, seems a strange occupation for the summer months. Though, if you know our Scottish weather, you might think there's a need for such articles.
I'm doing it because it occupies my fingers when I'm reading, watching something on screen, or travelling and it's using up lots of ends of balls of yarn left over from my sock-knitting obsession.
That will free up some space in my yarn cupboard and I'll try really hard not just to fill it up again. And Oxfam will be glad to receive them.
Today has been all laundry and bed-making. Plus a bit of sorting through our collection of baby toys and equipment. I'm hoping I'll find a local charity who will accept them. I understand why they have to be careful, but it seems so wasteful just to send them to the dump. Hal will have outgrown them all by the time he next visits.
