Diamond blue

Despite the disappointment of the rain that never came even I have to own the beauty of the day mixed in with the sticky heat. I pumped water, picked a hatful of borlottis, admired the willows by the pond, checked on the water supply at the Aquedotto that feeds the surrounding houses, picked windfall apples and found yet more hazelnuts on a different tree, retreated to the cool of the house for a breather, did some rough cutting in the dust and had a very late lunch and waited for the rain to come. It did get agonisingly close. But never arrived. (See extras).

The Boss leaves Edinburgh today after a busy and cool sojourn. Sleeper to London and flight from City. We never appreciated just how simple travel was until we lost it.
