Thunder In The Air
With temperatures soaring again, any moisture left in the ground is sucked into the air, leaving cracks in the soil. Thunder rumbles all around, despite there being no rain in the forecast. To the west the sun still shone fiercely, to the east tall dark clouds amassed, against which periodically a rainbow appears. A few streaks of lightening make their mark. After a while I think I feel a water drop and head for cover.
As usual, finding a balance of exposure for the sky and land that I feel comfortable with is a challenge. The sunlit clouds were very bright and the light on the trees and shrubs, subtle. I decided on portrait orientation to show the height of the clouds.
