Happy New Year

Today we headed to the dryness of the guildhall for the Chinease New Year Celebrations. Its the year of the snake you know.

It was a lot of fun, full of singing, dancing, fighting and musicians, some of whom were more entertaining than possibly planned. The children enjoyed it, soaking up the culture. Boy liked the Dragons as he called them in the Lion Dance the best (he fell asleep during the martial arts) and Girl liked the little girl dancing the best.

After one act I turned to Girl and said "those two were funny weren't they?", she replied "No!, they were loud" At times it felt a bit eurovision with the two presenters working between languages and having some over scripted jokes, which made it even more fun.

I had to agree with Boy that the Dragons / Lions were the best. Incidently I am a Dragon, Boy is a Tiger, Girl is a Rat whilst the Wife, well she, like this year, is a snake, a lovely one though!
