...Care to sit a spell?
Surprise! Bet you didn't think this was mine, did you? It's good to depart from the norm now and again. Besides, after yesterday's hawk, I thought I'd give the birds a rest for the day.
We woke to a bracing 6 Fahrenheit this morning - which equals "freaking cold" in Celsius. However, it was sunny and beautiful and we decided to venture our for a while. Made a stop at one of the lakes where a pair of bald eagles is nesting - only to find an alarming number of ice fishers camped out on the lake. Honestly - who came up with the brilliant idea of cutting a hole in the ice and then sitting there for hours waiting for something to happen??? (With all due apologies to any of you who are ice-fishing enthusiasts...)
From there we ventured to Kittatinny Valley State Park where there were only a few intrepid ice fishers...and no eagles. Took a bunch of shots of this and that, but couldn't decide so asked Hubs to pick my blip today. And this is it! (Thanks, honey.)
The snow in our yard and in the woods this morning was criss-crossed with all kinds of critter tracks - so I decided to set up the trail-cam this afternoon hoping to capture whatever is out there at night. Mostly deer, I suspect, but we'll see...
Tomorrow morning is my visit to the spine specialist - I've got my questions all lined up and Hubs is going to follow me there, stay for the appointment and then he's off to the airport for a quick trip to FL.
Thank you for all the comments on Coop the hawk yesterday! There is just something about raptors that is utterly fascinating, I think. I saw him again today, but he was up high in the trees.
I'll be back around later to check in - still hard for me to make many comments since it hurts to sit for more than about 20 minutes.
xxoo
