Reflections
Monday
The forecast was good so we decided to go down to Aviemore. The sun was shining when we left home, a few heavy clouds blocked out the sun as we reached the Cairngorms but they soon cleared to leave us bathed in sunlight.
We went to one of our favourite walks at Loch en Eileen. The Heather is out in full bloom and we could smell it , something I had not really noticed before and have seen that others have felt the same.
We walked around the Loch taking in the atmosphere as well as avoiding the bikes that were also going round. Not too many but some were going abit too fast.
We sat by the Loch listening to the birds in the treetops, too high for us to see. A few midges around and if you sat for too long they would definitely find you.
The Heather looked it’s best under the Granny Pines that stretched up into the blue sky.
We stopped for a Costa coffee in Aviemore and Mike popped into the Co op, ( which is hidden away down side street) to buy a Couple of meal deals and a steak and a chicken pie that we like from there.
We drove on to Loch Garten to eat our lunch. We parked the car near a bird feeder and watched the coal tits, great and blue tits and chaffinches coming down to pick at the nuts.
The Osprey centre and walk are closed for refurbishment so we went for a walk by the Loch instead. The photo above shows the wonderful reflections.
A good drive back to Inverness and with the sea looking so calm we went down to North Kessock to take a few photos.
Back home to have the steak pie for dinner :)
