I'm not sure if they just misheard, but apparently it is a maple that they dance around in duckule world. Well, it was more like nibbling around the maple, but hey ho... Oh, and that is the beautiful little Japanese maple that Imogen gave me for Christmas!
Letting them out in the morning was unusual: they seemed totally spooked! Usually they just pour out of the Eglu's door as soon as I've opened it half a duck's-width, but today I had to coax them out of the Eglu, and they then just rushed into the water tray in their run, and took further coaxing (with mealworms) to come out of the run. Once out, they were skittish, and rushed back into the run (and water tray) when a wood pigeon took off nearby. I think the storm rattled them, but I find that surprising (esp. given how excited they are by even v. heavy rain). Perhaps the wind whistled or banged or something, or perhaps a fox made its presence known nearby in the night.
Anyway, they came and sat on the kitchen step while Imogen and I had coffee, and have seemed pretty chilled since.
I mostly took bird's-eye view shots of them, as that often ends up amusing, but this one seemed most different.
