Being WildCardinal...

Buttermere

The fog and cloud from yesterday continued to this morning, so another low-level walk was in order. A couple of years ago I did a walk near Buttermere (up over Haystacks) and remembered it being very pretty, even with the hail/snow/sleet.

Overnight there had been a dusting of snow on the tops, so the trip over Honnister Pass was very pretty. Getting down into Buttermere brought a drizzle, but nothing significant. About half way round this turned into blowing sleet. Wrapped up toasty and warm the weather was no problem - other than needing to wipe down the camera lens before every shot! :-)

(It looks like this fairly well photographed tree has lost another branch or two over the winter. Wonder how much longer it'll last.)

Lunch and a little shopping in Keswick before heading over to Braithwaite for the weeks workshop at LPH with John - see his blip for today to see the group.

Now got network access again, so a few back-blips for the last couple of days:
Friday 8 February 2013: Barrow Wake
Saturday 9 February 2013: Fenced in
