They do live on and feed onyour cute fluffy pupsters so maybe you should man up and meet him eye to eye. This one was one of the biggest I've seen , perhaps 10 to 12 mm in body length. DawGals method for getting them off is to soak them in eucalyptus shampoo, usually that deals to them, this one was a bit more gritty and after eventually falling off was running around my table. I have a rule for myself, that I should take care to cause no harm to any critter that I photograph. This guy was an exception.
