St Andrews Cross spider
Argiope Keyserlingi
This a female (the males are not as pretty!). I finally found one that I was able to easily see both sides of - usually I find them in hedges, facing inwards, so that I can only see their undersides. I will have to keep an eye on this one, to see when the spiderlings hatch out of the egg sac (assuming there is one - I'll check tomorrow).
Bigger pretty patterns
The white flower spider that lives on my buddleia has curled up a leaf and has an egg sac inside and isn't coming out to play anymore. Must keep an eye on that one too.
