This is not just any old melon

It’s home grown, the only problem was that it started ripening when it was smaller than a tennis ball. It smells delicious but I haven’t tried it yet. I have another one, larger than this one, but still fairly small. Not a good return for all the water I have given the plant.
The downpours have continued today, especially one particularly heavy one as I was driving home after my trip to the supermarket this morning. It reminded me of the first time we went to Florida and I told my husband to pull over as we couldn’t see a thing. I had to keep going this morning as there was nowhere to pull in but thankfully it didn’t last too long.
