had to be the monarch

I have seen so few of these this year that when one showed up tonight on the flowers there was no question it would be the blip of the day. 
However, the extras were fun or interesting things seen on my walk. The broadwing was happily sitting on the wires for the longest time. Pity it has gray sky behind it instead of blue , and that I left the butterfly lens on the camera , not the bird lens. And how could I pass up the small milkweed bugs after just having said I had never seen them before  just last week? I must admit it was a bit of an augh look at them all! moment but it was interesting.
