Crossroads Farm

This morning I walked up to Crossroads Farm from the village..about 2.5 miles each way. I have blipped different views of this place before.

It appears to be being left to gradually rot...it is a Grade II listed building and so cannot be demolished. Presumably once it falls down the land becomes more valuable for redevelopment! It is located at the ‘junction’ of the A1 and A64..known as Bramham Crossroads from when it literally was a crossroad junction of the Great North Road and the Leeds to Scarborough road. These days you can only really see it from the Eastbound A64 or local side roads.

Sadly the Red Lion pub in our village had to close yesterday...after someone had visited who had tested positive for COVID-19. They are now having to deep clean the whole place and don’t know when they will be open again. Frustratingly the (unnamed) person reported the result on Friday morning having visited on Wednesday night.... so presumably they must have already submitted the test and had reason to believe that they may have been in contact with the disease when they visited. The pub have not been collecting contact details of all customers ..so there is no way of contacting everyone else who may have been in. I hope there is no local spike in cases…
