A relaxing weekend?

Was working all weekend (again) and feeling thoroughly fed up so decided to pop out and treat myself. I have, after all, been working like a bampot and clearly not been partying enough. (And no - wine to knock you out at the end of a long day clearly does not count as partying!)

Been thinking about getting a new camera for some time, spending way too long on the internet reading reviews and checking prices and auction sites for a suitable alternative for my Canon Ixus which is getting a bit past it! Opted for the Fujifilm Finepix S8100fd - not sure whether i made the right decision yet (had wanted to go for a digital SLR but couldn't really justify the extra expenditure, considering my amateurish photography skills!). Anyway snapped a few shots of things I had lying around the house including this poppy thingummy which I find quite beautiful. Clearly need to get used to the camera (and figure out how to use all the features) so watch this space for what i hope to be much improved shots coming this way....
