Bumps in the Road

By JimJ

Still no word on our Covid-19 tests.  We were initially told to expect the results within four hours of having the tests done but were warned that they might take up to 48 hours.

After waiting two full days, I called the NHS to follow up.  They were understandably very busy, placing me on hold for more than 45 minutes.  After handing over lots of details, they then informed me that 48 hours actually means three days in this case.

I can empathise with the people at the NHS but our experience of being tested hasn't been a good one.  Hopefully it improves when the schools go back in England and we see a further increase of coughs and fevers.  It sensible that people head off for testing.  They just need the infrastructure to support a rapid increase of them.
