Lets meet up for morning coffee........

Or in this case morning nectar.

I have not seen as many Hover flies this August as I think there were last year. I suppose it was a much sunnier month then.

So I was pleased to find these as I walked home from a nature reserve this morning.

Looking at my Britain’s Hoverflies book I am sure they are Helophilus pendulus. They do not have a common name.

In the extra they have been joined by a little greenish fly. I have found that much more difficult to identify, so if anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful.
