the view from standing still
The sunrise this morning was halting. Since we live across the street from the water, I can see the water and the colors of the sky through and above the scraggy winter leafless trees and our neighbors homes. Even less interesting are the phone wires - about six of them - that run horizontally beneath the tree line. So in order to capture the color only, and the power of the rising sun, I resort to blurring out the reality in order to photograph the truth.
I had no time to stop this morning as most Monday school mornings go, and yet I couldn't help myself. I sipped my coffee, standing still, in awe.
