Then and Now.

As I've used my phone for the past three blips I thought I'd better make an effort and use a camera. But what do I blip? Ah yes, good old then and now around my village.

The 'Then' picture was taken in 1918, the year before my parents were born. Incredibly it really hasn't changed much at all. This pub has actually been in existence since 1620.

When I arrived in this village, having been posted to the local RAF camp, they had Disco nights, known locally as 'Grab a Granny night'. How we used to laugh at that - now my own daughters are older than those Grannies!

Today I've tidied the patio, and cleared all the summer bedding plants. It's early for them to have 'gone over'. I'm usually clearing them in October when it's cold and traditionally we usually have the slow cooker going ,cooking some delicious smelling casserole. But then, nothing has been 'normal' this year. Our patio/courtyard area has never looked so tidy as it has this year, but I've not been charging all over the country to dog shows and therefore had to keep myself occupied in the garden! What will next year bring? A tidy garden, or a more active social life? Who knows?
