Brambles

I'm seeing lots of berries of all kinds on my walks which brighten up the hedgerows no end.  I never eat them because unless they're the cultivated type I don't think they have much taste, but I'm sure the wildlife enjoy them.  When the children were young we used to go black-berrying but the fun was in the picking rather than the eating.

We've had a quiet day and the worrying news that my BIL has been taken into hospital;  we can't go to see him of course but we've exchanged a few text messages and he seems to be on good form.
