Live Music
Way back in April Jerry and I along with my cousin Gail and her hubby Marty had tickets for a music concert by the Malpass Brothers at an historic opera house in Newberry. Due to COVID the concert was postponed twice. Today the show was finally performed with wonderful old style country music.
These guys are very talented! They sang Hank Williams, Merle Haggard and the Louvin Brothers along with some others.
After the concert we walked around to the back of the opera house to meet with the musicians as Gail and I are very distantly related to them as my dad and her mom had the same last name. We also met their Dad who had actually done some ancestry research and we were able to find the link while talking. Now I have to dig back more to find the details. Not many people share the Malpass name.
Marty and Gail came back to the house where we ate supper and then proceeded to talk for hours. They had an hours drive home when they left here at 10pm! We made tentative plans for a trip to the apple orchard in the near future. It was so great to be out at an event and share time with people we love!
