Julie’s daffodils in the rain

Twelve years ago next month my good friend Julie passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
At the time her daughter was Ella’s friend, they were just little girls of 7 and 8.
It was the saddest thing.

In her last months Julie campaigned with our local council to get a lane of daffodil bulbs planted along the road where she lived. She wanted to leave something bright and happy for everyone.

Those daffodils are blooming again now, as they do every year, heads bent against today’s rain but looking so cheerful never the less.
