Surprise Spring Snow

Lovely. Just lovely. Just when the tulips and other perennials were poking their hopeful green sprouts up towards the sunshine, this has to happen...

Oh dear, I do not sound at all grateful about anything, do I? Well, it truly was a pretty sight when I opened my eyes this morning and saw this after a full night of pouring rain. It surprised me even though the weather reports did mention a good amount of potential snow. It's melting now anyway.

This photo is straight out of the camera. I took shots out several windows and they all had this subdued desaturated appearance. The pond is completely thawed now and the temperatures will keep it thawed for good. It really is lovely.

Today I am grateful for this view, good health, and the cookies my daughter made that are staring at me on my desk right this minute.
