A new wander

A fun day out for Missy today - tomorrow she is going to the vets and it will be v restricted activities for a week which we suspect will be exceptionally difficult to maintain.

We parked at a very busy Smardale but then we went the opposite way to everyone else and wandered the new part of the cutting that Cumbria Wildlife Trust have acquired that links up with the Waitby Greenriggs reserve.
It's an interesting walk, and whilst it doesn't have the spectacular aspect of Smardale we only saw two people. We did however see huge numbers of butterflies, nothing rare but special in their abundance. Getting them to settle with a crazy spaniel zooming about however was quite tricky!
