Just in time

Last year I left the seed heads on the Cardoons because I thought that the birds would like them. No birds - just unsightly heads. Today I went out with the intention of cutting them down and saw the parakeets eating the seeds so they will stay. Planted out 40 wallflowers that I grew from seed. They are now good size plants.
