Great Skua and Gannet

Great Skuas, or bonxies, harass other birds, especially gannets, for their food and are described as 'kleptoparasitic' for that reason. Underwater photography now shows gannets will often swallow fish they catch before surfacing to try and avoid being robbed, but the skuas will just force them to regurgitate the fish. I took a similar shot exactly a year ago! This was off Skaill in Deerness.
