The Not So Subtle Knife (widwed020820)

My favourite of the three books in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy is the middle one, The Subtle Knife, where paths from one world to another are opened up by the knife of the title. So, a composite of one of our kitchen knives and part of the railway cutting,  fartnarkled about to give it some distortion and a hint of dust.
