Wonderful color

I was out in my front yard watering everything in anticipation of the heat wave heading our way when I spotted this bright red shiny area on my favorite tree.  I ran to get my camera and took a few pictures, but I have no idea what it is.  I hope it's not something bad, but what it looked like in person was some kind of sap. The colors around it and the swirl of the tree created a this image.

Getting some things done today because the babies aren't here. Manda isn't feeling well and she didn't want to risk exposing us to anything.  Hopefully it's just a passing thing and we'll see the boys on Friday.
