Green and Gray
He never says "no" when I say "how about North Chagrin?" So off we went...to Whispering Woods, around Strawberry Lane lake/pond (above, even though there's no more Strawberry Lane!), and the White Pine Loop Trail. It didn't seem that any of the 3 people fishing caught anything. I never say this: best large!
The white pines average 148 feet tall, dating back to the early 1730s. Only 15 remain standing from the original forest. A boardwalk was installed in the 1950s to protect the forest floor. Pine cones are collected for seeds to regenerate the pines.
I just pulled out the family photo from October 1, 1964 taken standing to the side of this lake. Wow.
Hope you all have a good evening!
