Monet
Today we took the bus to Donnant and walked down the west coastline of the island past the bits that Monet painted. I took rather a lot of pictures today, more than yesterday, and the coastline here is stunning and very beautiful. It's very similar to the western coast of Quiberon directly to the north of the island - which we walked along a number of years ago.
Today's back blip is one of the rock stacks off the coast that Monet painted in 1886. There were loads of tourists at this point of the walk as they piled out of their cars at the car park and wandered around to take selfies of themselves against the backdrop of Monet's inspiration.
Later on we walked through a village that shares its name with my wife, which had to be visited... Her surname is Breton, and while not wildly common, it's toponymic: derived from a place name, so there are several places in Brittany with her name. We make a point of visiting them...!
