Changes

I mentioned the other day there are some new houses being built in my road. On the right are two 2 bed houses and on the left, will be a 2 bed detached house. Parking is planned for each house but none have a garden. Unless you consider 3 foot between building and fence a garden!

 The land being used were gardens for the flats overlooking the developments. These flats sit on top of shops and in years gone by the shopkeeper would live above with stair giving access down into the shop. All the stairs have now been removed, the flats sold off and the 'gardens' have either been left to be yards for the shops or unwanted land for the tenants of the flats.

The plans show the building line up to the service road on the left. A service road for skip lorries, dush-carts and lorries delivering. That's the width of a modern build home between the HGVs and their livingroom...

For the next 2 weeks, I will watch developments then forget about it all. Over the last 26 years, things have changed, not always for the best.
