The last full day in Wales was cooler than of late but still pleasant. We decided on a shorter coastal walk today as our bones were asking us to go easy. We started at Abereiddy with a £5 parking fee on a rough car park. Only a surprise as we have been getting used to free or reasonable parking and impressed by the facilities available. We later understood why the charge and why the place was so popular. At the end of the circular walk we came across Blue Lagoon, an old slate quarry breached by the sea and the place coasteering was invented in the 90's. A lot of outdoor adventuring groups taking paying customers to jump off the rocks into the deep pool. They were joined by even more adventurous types who just turned up to climb and jump.
The inevitable extras from me show the ever impressive coastal scenes along with the fascinating old industrial port of Porthgain. The place the slate was dropped from the cliff top into a huge factory on the dockside. The main blip was taken in Porthgain, I'm a fan of old buoys.
