A Blip-Brush With Greatness!

FULL DISCLOSURE: This is not my photograph but it is my blip-pic of a photo of Annie Leibowitz. And now...my blip-blurb! Today I had the pleasure of lunching with a colleague...an equal...a friend with whom I can share war stories and tall tales and old tales and shaggy dog tales. A friend with whom I can compare the market, growth strategies and recruiting efforts. And this great lunch was at the National Arts CLub (NAC) on 20th Street opposite Gramercy Park, where my friend is a member. (Follow NAC link: http://www.nationalartsclub.org/ ) A glorious, old, dark and very victorian mansion...grand entrance...grand architectural details from the Victorian era...and staff that has been there at least since then! Worn leather club chairs...beautiful carpets and just enough light that in order to see who is dining at the next table or sitting in the grouping of well worn chairs opposite you, you will need to squint. And stare...staring is a not allowed. Nor should it be...ever...but everyone once in a while we do it now and again anyway. The NAC supports and promotes the arts and has been doing so for years. Well! The highlight of my thus-far new occupation as a blip-ographer was running into Annie Leibowitz today at the Club. (For more about Annie follow link: http://www.vanityfair.com/contributors/annie-leibovitz ) No...I did not pull out my iPad and show her my portfolio. Nor did I gaze at her adoringly. Like any seasoned New Yorker I simply took note, walked to my table to join my lunch companion and then silently mouthed the word "wow" to my friend. Another wonderful perk of living in NYC is seeing high-profile folks doing everyday things in their jeans and sneakers. Casually going from task to task throughout their day. No pretense. No grandstanding...just doing their thing. Rozwood...in your honor I am suggesting a track.
