Birthday outings

So today was Mum’s 80th birthday, a milestone my Dad sadly didn’t quite make so it had a special significance. This week I have been busy getting stuff organised. The family had clubbed together to buy a beautiful sandstone bird bath and I worked on a wood stump to make a stand. In the midst of everything this week our beautiful cat Milo came home late on Wednesday night with a terrible injury to his right eye. A trip to the out of hours vet was in order where he stayed the night and after some stitches he came home the next day. He looks terrible and I’ve been very sad about it all. He had such beautiful eyes. I had the day off yesterday and Milo managed to escape into the garden - he has a cone on his head so he was probably ok but I was very worried and stressed by it. He seems to be improving and we are doing our best to administer his many medications. So it was a relief today that the birthday celebrations went so well. Birthday brunch was first - we cooked for Mum at her house and presented the bird bath which looks beautiful. Then we headed to Hinton Ampner a National Trust property Mum wanted to visit. Only the grounds were open but it was lovely to wander round and see the flowers and ancient trees. We came home for birthday BBQ and the share the beautiful cake a friend had made. We did the virtual pub quiz outside with the fairy lights on and the owls hooting in the tree nearby. Mum said she’d had a super day. And tomorrow Milo has a follow up at the vet....
