Saltwater Creek, Timaru

Today Rainie took us to visit the Otipua Wetland, at the mouth of the Saltwater Creek in Timaru. We attempted to get close to the bird life, but had no success.

As we were leaving the area I snapped this shot of the creek, as it runs towards the ocean.

More Salt.

The wetland is a community project to re-create a habitat which will benefit wildlife and the environment for people to enjoy in the future. It will provide the opportunity to come and enjoy wildness, wetlands and the huge diversity of flora and fauna at the edge of Timaru.
