More of the Same

I hardly ever take pictures of food. I've usually eaten if before the idea crosses my mind. At the moment, though, inspiration seems to be lacking and I'm alert to any opportunity.

This is today's offering from the veg patch - golden beetroot, tomato, red onion and parsley. Grown, harvested, chopped and dressed by TM.

And now eaten by me. Which is a remarkable thing, as I really hate beetroot!  But then, I've never met the golden variety before. I approached cautiously, and I have to admit that it was  ... ok. It didn't have so much of that musty earth smell about it, and it didn't seem to me to taste of anything much.  I think I could adapt one of those recipes that uses courgettes.

There's an extra of some sweet peas, now on their way out. I didn't keep up with cutting them and they are mostly gone to seed now. I shall save some for next year, it will be interesting to see what comes up.
