New reality day 40
This is the King's Spring (Kuninkaanlähde). It looks muddy, but that's just an illusion made by the bubbly water coming through sand. The water is crystal clear and said to be drinkable. And nearly ice cold.
I read that 90% of the natural springs of Finland have disappeared. This one is 1km from our house. We walk by it most of the days with the dogs. It's small, but creates a creek to the left in the picture. This is said to be magnificent spring and yet it's so small. I wonder how the rest look.
This is called King's Spring as the story tells that 2 Kings of Sweden have stopped there on their way (I assume to St. Petersburg) to have a drink and rest there. I tried to find which Kings, but all I could find was the Kings when Finland was still part of Sweden.
We're pretty much now done with the big renovations. Still a lot of finishing to do, but nothing that takes a lot of space to make, so we took the scaffold to the storage shed today. That took a lot of space. We still need the circular saws and such for some weeks, and those are in the living room as they are used in the back yard, but taken in so the possible rain won't damage them and are very heavy, so they are staying right next to the back door in the living room. Can't do much about that.
The thingies that were ordered haven't arrived. No idea when they will come. They'll let us know that will happen. So...
We started with the kitchen island today. The major wall of it is now done. But the other side and the wall next to it need still some work.
So few things still around that won't belong there, but all and all we're nearly done. And boy does it feel good!
And then we can start with the outside if we want to or wait for the spring for that. The greenhouse of course needs a lot of work still, but this house now feels like a home. And not a renovation area.
